About the Jungle Cat
SAMPSON
ALEX
(Felis Chaus)
The Jungle Cat can be found in jungles, woodlands, reed beds and
marshes. They range from Asia, South America, and Europe. Jungles
feed on small rodents, reptiles, birds and have been known to take
down a small animal like wild pigs. Weighing up to 30 lbs. (the male
being about 10 lbs. heavier than the females) the Jungle Cat is quite an
impressive animal. They have incredible jumping abilities. Jungles
can spring up to 8 ft high. They come in golden, and silver tipped
melanistic. Eyes are gold, and they have a 3/4 length tail. The golden
have a mostly tan body with black tips on the end of the hair shaft.
They have elongated ears with tuffs on the end. Which makes for a
striking appeal. The melanistic has black hair with a silver underlay.
The hair in their ears is silver also. Some carry more silver than others.
These two beauties belong to Sue Arnold, (Arnold's Exotics) On the left is
Midnight. She is a Silver Tipped Melanistic Jungle Cat. A perfect example of
how friendly Jungles are. Midnight loves to jump up on you and give you head
butts. On the right is Alex. He is a golden male that is 15 months old. He still
has lots of growing to do. Alex and Midnight are the parents of our new
Melanistic JC Zaire.
